This beauty is a remarkable Sapphire. In natural light, it shines a denim blue, and under artificial light, it's center turns violet. This stone will leave you enchanted no matter where you are.
I cut this gemstone in a design called "Omni Oval," written by Robert Strickland and one of my favorite oval designs to cut.
This Sapphire has some feather inclusions as seen in the video.
Sapphire has been popular throughout history, and that trend doesn't seem to be changing. Sapphire is a mineral called corundum, and it doesn't only come in the well-known royal blue. Corundum comes in an array of colours and shades, including white. The popular Ruby also belongs to this family as a red corundum. Sapphires and Rubies have a hardness of 9, making it the hardest coloured stone, and is well suited for daily wear. Sapphire also happens to be the traditional birthstone for those born in September.
