This Montana Sapphire's color flashes between royal blue and almost an aqua color and is absolutely striking! I'm floored by how beautiful it is - in daylight and incandescent.
I cut this Sapphire in a design I wrote called 'Stormlight,' originally created specifically for Sapphires as it cuts to impress.
This gemstone is eye clean with no noticeable inclusions and is heat treated only.
Sapphire has been popular throughout history, and that trend doesn't seem to be changing. Sapphire is a mineral called corundum, and it doesn't only come in the well-known royal blue. Corundum comes in an array of colours and shades, including white. The popular Ruby also belongs to this family as a red corundum. Sapphires and Rubies have a hardness of 9, making it the hardest coloured stone, and is well suited for daily wear. Sapphire also happens to be the traditional birthstone for those born in September.
