There is a signature color when it comes to Montana Sapphires, and you know it when you see it. It's a beautiful vivid blue with a touch of green - exactly the color of this one. At just under 6mm, it would make a standout centerpiece in any jewelry.
I cut this Sapphire in a design I wrote called "Stormlight."
This Sapphire is eye clean and has only had a standard heat treatment.
Sapphire has been popular throughout history, and that trend doesn't seem to be changing. Sapphire is a mineral called corundum, and it doesn't only come in the well-known royal blue. Corundum comes in an array of colours and shades, including white. The popular Ruby also belongs to this family as a red corundum. Sapphires and Rubies have a hardness of 9, making it the hardest coloured stone, and is well suited for daily wear. Sapphire also happens to be the traditional birthstone for those born in September.
