This soft green Sapphire is simply marvelous and the only choice I had was to cut it with a larger table to showcase the beautiful faint navy phantoms within it! A masterpiece, created over millions of years!
This gemstone is cut in a design by the late Jeff Graham that he called 'Signature #3,' which I chose for the larger table to showcase the phantoms.
This Sapphire has blue color zoning in stripes across the table. It was treated with a standard heat treatment but is otherwise eye clean.
Sapphire has been popular throughout history, and that trend doesn't seem to be changing. Sapphire is a mineral called corundum, and it doesn't only come in the well-known royal blue. Corundum comes in an array of colours and shades, including white. The popular Ruby also belongs to this family as a red corundum. Sapphires and Rubies have a hardness of 9, making it the hardest coloured stone, and is well suited for daily wear. Sapphire also happens to be the traditional birthstone for those born in September.
